Disconnect and breathe in the fresh mountain air on this 2-day hiking and camping excursion to Cerro Puñay from Baños de Agua Santa.
After picking you up at your hotel in Baños de Agua Santa at 7 am, we'll head southwest towards Cerro Puñay. Before reaching our final destination, we'll make several stops at different viewpoints to admire the natural beauty and the towns of the province of Chimborazo.
Then, to replenish our strength, we'll stop at a restaurant in Chunchi where the meal will consist of a main dish and a drink. Following lunch, we'll begin a 3-hour hiking route that will take us to the top of Cerro Puñay, a solitary mountain that stands out in the middle of the valley of Piñancay. Along the way, we'll talk about the Cañari Indigenous Peoples who once inhabited these lands.
We'll reach an altitude of nearly 10,730 feet (3,270 meters)! Once we're at the top of Puñay, we'll set up the tents and make our way to a viewpoint where we'll enjoy one of the most beautiful sunsets in Ecuador. We'll have dinner at the camp and rest until the next day, enjoying the nature that surrounds us.
We'll wake up at 7:30 am and start the day with a delicious mountain breakfast. We'll start descending the slopes of Cerro Puñay and say goodbye to this beautiful place as we make our way to the base, where the minibus will be waiting for us. The activity will conclude at 4 pm, leaving you at your hotel in Baños de Agua Santa.
The excursion includes one night of lodging in tents on Cerro Puñay. The price of the tour also includes the sleeping bag.
