On the day of your tour, meet your guide at your chosen time in front of the Castello Nirmanno-Svevvo, Bari's imposing Medieval castle built by the Normans in the 12th century. After admiring its impressive golden stone walls, you'll begin your private tour of Barivecchia, the city's historic center.
Explore its most picturesque corners and lose yourselves in the charm of the via dell'Orecchietta, where you'll walk shoulder to shoulder with the locals of Bari. Then, you'll wander over to the Duomo, the Cathedral of San Sabino, a Romanesque-style church with a long history. We'll take a moment to admire the exterior of this stunning architectural marvel.
After passing by the Cathedral, you'll head to the Basilica of Saint Nicholas, the city's most famous church and an important pilgrimage destination. Why? Well, its crypt is home to the relics of Saint Nicholas, a sacred figure both historically, religiously, and in modern Western culture as the gift-giving Santa Claus (Saint Nick)!
After exploring the city for 2 hours on foot, we'll conclude our private tour of Bari in the city center.
