At the time you choose, we'll meet at Place de la Riponne to begin this private walking tour of Lausanne. Are you ready to discover the city's secrets? Let's go!
First, we'll admire the facade of the Palais de Rumine, a Renaissance building that houses various museums and even a library. From there, we'll be captivated by the charm of Lausanne by strolling around its lovely old town.
Located at the shores of Lake Geneva and close to France, Lausanne surprises all with its cosmopolitan lifestyle and its beautiful palaces and churches. As this is a private walking tour, we'll stroll around the old town and stop at those areas that interest you the most to tell you about its history.
We'll travel to the 16th century, marvelling at the Fontaine de la Justice, which has a typical Swiss style. Close by, we'll see the Town Hall, with its characteristic clock tower, and head to the Escalier du Marche. This stretch of medieval stairs will lead us to the exterior of the Cathedral, a Gothic temple with over 850 years old. You'll love it!
In addition, we'll discover why Lausanne is known as the Olympic capital, we'll explore the neighborhood of Flon, and, before saying our goodbyes, we'll share the ties of the city with the Camino de Santiago.
