On this hakf-day trip to Sitio Burle Marx, we’ll travel from Rio de Janeiro to discover one of the great works of the master of modern landscape design.
We’ll pick you up at the indicated time at your hotel in Rio de Janeiro and head to Sitio Burle Marx, located about 50 kilometers (30 miles) southwest of the city.
This magical place was created from the imagination of Roberto Burle Marx, the master of modern landscape design, whose avant-garde style has become a true emblem of Brazil.
Burle Marx sought to blend his personal style with Cubism and Abstractionism, two of the most prominent art movements of the twentieth century, resulting in this beautiful set of gardens filled with exotic flowers and plants.
As we walk through the grounds, we’ll learn interesting facts about the Brazilian architect’s life and work. We’ll also visit Burle Marx’s house and his collection of folk art.
Finally, we’ll take you back to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro, arriving around 4 hours after pickup.
