Want to taste Campania’s finest wines? Join a tasting at In Vino Veritas, a beloved wine bar in the heart of Sorrento. Cheers to great flavor!
Our experience will start at the appointed time at In Vino Veritas, a famous wine bar in Sorrento located next to the central Piazza Tasso.
We'll start with a brief introduction to the wines of the Campania region, covering the grape harvest season and the traditional viticulture techniques used in this part of southern Italy. We'll also learn about the various stages of winemaking and the specific methods used at each step.
Then, we'll enjoy a tasting of 4 wines: Fiano di Avellino (white), Pallagrello Rosato (rosé), Aglianico del Taburno Docg (red) and Taurasi (red). We'll learn to differentiate each of them taking into account their characteristics, such as the nuances in taste, aroma and, of course, the color, and flavor.
As a pairing, we'll have a selection of typical sausages. We'll start with a Parma ham and a mortadella from Bologna with Protected Geographical Indication. Then, we'll continue with a capocollo, from the town of Martina Franca, in Apulia. As a finale, we'll have a salami from Naples.
Next, we'll continue the pairing with a tasting of Italian cheeses: 36 months old Parmigiano Reggiano, pecorino Romano, mozzarella ciliegine from the Lattari mountains and goat cheese. All will be accompanied by taggiasche olives, focaccia, and Neapolitan tarallo.
After 1.5 hours of wine tasting and pairing, we'll conclude this wine experience.
