Tampa Bay is home to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a rescue and rehabilitation centre for Atlantic wildlife.
With this Clearwater Marine Aquarium ticket, you'll learn about their mission, which is to care for and protect injured creatures until they are able to survive on their own. At the aquarium, you'll find bottlenose dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, and stingrays - you can even feed them and take pictures with them! How cool is that?
What's more, the facility also offers a tour of the aquarium's hospital, where you'll see first-hand how the caregivers care for and help the rescued animals.
You can't miss the chance to visit the memorial of the former star of the aquarium: the dolphin Winter. After losing her tail when it got caught in a net, this brave dolphin was able to swim again thanks to a prosthetic device. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium took in this female after her accident and offered her the best care and most importantly, a home.
The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is open daily from 9 am to 6 pm.
On December 24 the aquarium will close at 2 pm, and on December 31 at 4 pm. The centre will remain closed on Thanksgiving.
