Discover Bastia on a private walking tour! Stroll through the Old Port, climb the Citadel for stunning views, and admire the Baroque architecture in the city, with the help of an exclusive guide just for you.
Meet your private tour guide at the indicated time in Place Saint Nicolas, for a private walking tour of Bastia. From here, we'll set off on an adventure to get to know the most important port town in Corsica!
First up, we'll stroll through the Old Port of the city. Located in a narrow cove, protecting vessels from the sometimes harsh elements, we'll stop to admire the colorful fishing boats that dock here. Although the Old Port may no longer hold the same significance as it did centuries ago, it's easy to see why locals and visitors alike still enjoy visiting the vibrant enclave.
Next up, we'll head over to the historic Citadel, to climb up the tower to enjoy breathtaking views of Bastia's coastline. Then, we'll make our way back to Place Saint Nicholas to explore the bustling square with its colorful pastel facades, full of local cafés and restaurants. Here, we'll experience the true soul of Bastia!
From here, we'll continue admiring the Baroque architecture that's found all over the city as we arrive at the Church of St. John the Baptist. This emblem of the city stands as a perfect example of Corsica's rich cultural heritage. Overlooking the Old Port, the church was built in 1583 and features a high classical façade. Though most people can't find it as it's hidden behind neighboring buildings, our local guide will point out this hidden gem to us.
Following this, we'll explore the Museum of Bastia, where the city's history and the region's culture are shown at their best through artifacts and exhibits. Our last stop on our tour will be at the Romieu Gardens, a tranquil space full of beautiful flowers and greenery.
Then, we’ll wrap up our 2-hour tour at a central spot in Bastia’s Old Town.
By booking a private tour, a personal guide will accompany you, and you'll be able to customize your itinerary, travel at your own pace, and even save money if you're traveling in a larger group!
