On this private tour of Borgo a Mozzano, discover the charms of this medieval town in the Serchio Valley with a guide just for you and your friends or family!
We'll meet at the designated time at 1 Guglielmo Marconi. From there, we’ll set off to explore Borgo a Mozzano, a charming town that played a key role as one of the main points of the Gothic Line—the Axis forces' final line of defense in Italy. Get ready to uncover its fascinating history!
Our first stop will be the Museum of Memory, where we’ll delve into the historical events of World War II and the strategic significance of this region as part of the German defensive system. The exhibits provide a vivid look at the past, offering views into the Pozzori Bunker, one of the many underground shelters constructed by the Todt Organization between 1943 and 1944 to protect German troops.
Next up, we'll check out the bunkers of Madonna di Mao, located in Borgo a Mozzano, and La Chiesa, situated in the village of Anchiano. These sites offer further insight into the German defense system, showcasing artillery positions, and trenches.
Finally, we’ll arrive at the iconic Devil’s Bridge (Ponte del Diavolo), a masterpiece of medieval engineering and a symbol of Borgo a Mozzano. From this vantage point, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Serchio Valley—the perfect spot to capture photos of the landscape.
After an enriching 2 of 2.5 hours, we’ll conclude the private experience near the Devil’s Bridge.
